The Oldfather Group of Ocean Atlantic Sotheby’s International Realty will host two open house events this weekend, each located just a few miles from the beach in some of southern Delaware's finest communities.

Nestled in Millsboro and Dagsboro, respectively, these homes are located far enough inland to provide a great value for the money, but close enough to the beach where you can have your toes in the sand in less than an hour, even during the busy summer season.

Now, let's take a look at the two coastal homes we'll be featuring this weekend...

Located at 25574 Chateau Place in Millsboro, the first showcased home will be open on Saturday and is actually a former catalog home that's been renovated, updated and added on to over the years.

Everyone has a favorite holiday, right?

If there's young children at home, chances are pretty good that Christmas is one of the highlights of your year. If you're a die hard romantic, then you're probably the first one in line at the florist on Feb. 14. And if you love nothing more than enjoying a bountiful feast and a full-day of nonstop football, then there's no better day on the calendar than Thanksgiving.

But for Screams at the Beach Manager Angela Colone and her misfit gang of psycho clowns, flesh-eating zombies, chain-wielding maniacs and bloodied corpses, the 364 days a year simply lead up to the best one of them all - and that's Halloween!

Now in it's seventh year, the award-winning haunted attraction between Georgetown and Lewes welcomes

The busy 2017 fall festival season continues this week with many more annual happenings taking place in locations throughout the coastal region.

But this one late September weekend every year is really all about Lewes, and you'll definitely notice the "First Town in the First State" as a recurring theme in this week's blog entry. And it's that way on purpose - the good folks in Lewes plan several events on the weekend of Coast Day, to really showcase the town in a positive light for residents, as well as for visitors.

So if you plan on getting out and about this weekend and enjoying the milder fall temperatures, Lewes is a great place to start.

Outside of Lewes this weekend, Dewey Beach is holding it's annual festival centered around the King of

As always, this week's "Home of the Week" is a fantastic piece of real estate in one of coastal Delaware's finest residential communities. But we have to admit that things are going to take on a bit of a different feel this week here on luxuryhomesdelaware.com.

And that's because the owners of this week's featured property received a contract offer on the home while we were in the middle of compiling this week's narrative. But we're going to tell you all about this inviting coastal home anyway, as well as a little more about the community where it rests.

Nestled in Harbeson, near historic Milton, the Trails of Beaver Creek is an inviting coastal community with several fantastic homes and homesites. It's also become a hotbed of activity for our very

Each week, we feature great events coming up over the next few days in the coastal region. And as we're in the middle of the 2017 fall festival season, there's surely plenty to tell you about.

This weekend's calendar is actually highlighted by a special annual festival in coastal Maryland, as Ocean City plays host once again to the four-day Sunfest event at the inlet.

This is always a great autumn event that never disappoints, so be sure to check it out if you're able. You can read much more about Sunfest below, of course.

Back across the state line in Delaware, we have one of the biggest bicycling events of the year, a beer-centric happening at the fabulous Big Chill Beach Club at Delaware Seashore State Park, a fun event in Milton and an

Now more than a year into her career with one of southern Delaware’s largest and most successful real estate firms, Taylor Wade has finally found her life’s passion.

It took awhile, but she knew it when she found it.

And she certainly hasn’t looked back, though her days haven’t always been filled with marketing strategies and sales tactics for the thriving coastal Delaware real estate market.

No, her “recipe for success” used to be just that – a recipe. Truth be told, it was dozens and dozens of them, in the most literal definition of the word.

That recipe, or blueprint, if you will, was once dominated by cakes and pies and chocolate chip cookies and other delicacies that consumed her nearly every waking moment.

It was the kitchen where

One week, we may tell you about a multi-million dollar beach home, followed the next week by a condominium or townhome, a home a little further inland or even in coastal Maryland, or you may even see a farmhouse or country home highlighted from time to time.

We like to mix it up, and we invite you to look through some of our former writeups here on our website, or on our Facebook and/or Twitter pages. Each
