Delaware’s largest city, Wilmington is located at the confluence of the Christina and Brandywine Rivers and is the economic and cultural hub of the First State.

With a history dating back to the mid-1600s, Wilmington is comprised of several neighborhoods, including Brandywine Hills, Gander Hill, Prices Run, Riverside and Baynard Village.

One of America’s most heavily traveled highways, Interstate 95, runs through Wilmington and connects motorists traveling between the Baltimore/Washington area and the states of New Jersey and New York.

The city also features a vibrant riverfront area that includes such highly visited sites as the Delaware Children’s Museum, the Wilmington Blue Rocks’ Stadium, which also houses the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame, and the Shipyard Shops.

Wilmington also boasts nine areas within the city that are designated historic districts, including the areas of Rockford Park, Quaker Hill, Baynard Boulevard and Delaware Avenue.
